Setting variables

Hi Les, using from the menu options - job options - variables I added 2 variables with values. But SC seems to remember only the name and the units but not the values. My fault ? How to handle this dialog correct ? Writing the two variables using operations they are used correct but should the dialo...

No problems here with your files.
Did you set the variables correct ?

Looks to me as if your startpoint is pretty far away from the part itself.

How far away from X0 / Y0 is your drawing ? What are the values at the bottom of the SC window in the X and Y field ?

Glad I could give you a kick in the right direction.

@LES

I would guess it was put there for testing purposes

Hi jacala, this is my solution : #1 Copy the pp in the attached zip file to the posts-directory of Sheetcam #2 Suppose your tube or column has a diameter of 100 mm then the circumference has a length of 100 * PI where PI is 3.14159 #3 SC uses the Y-value of your drawing for calculations so draw in y...

SheetCam crashes during options dialog changes

Hi Les, wanted to change the import link tolerance in the Drawing import settings. Double clicked in the input field, the old value gets selected, started to write a new one beginning with 0,0 As soon as I write the comma Windows brings up a message : SheetCam doesn't work anymore. Looking for a sol...

Les,

I work with the latest version TNG Dev V4.1.32 .

Didn't know those keys are working only in nesting mode. Selected nesting mode and all works perfect.

Sorry for my wrong alarm

Rotating doesn't work with keys

Hi Les,

trying to rotate the part with "<" or ">" or the grid with "," and "." doesn't work.
Writing an angle into the box at the bottom works with rotating the part.

Any settings wrong here ?

Thanks,

Richard

Okay, modified the 'Minimum g-code noarcs' post and added some mathematics. The output is a file with Y-values converted to A-angles and scaled to the diameter you have to define as variable via an operation. Attached is a job file, a screenshot of my backplotter to show the result and the modified ...

Hi Les,

exactly scaling was what I need. But found a solution : since Sheetcam does the break arc into lines job I can use a little script I wrote years ago .

This script converts X or Y values depending on the given radius of the column into angle values.

A perfect team I think

Thanks

Which PP to use ?

Hi Les,

I have the rotary axis parallel the x-axis and want to do a regular rotary milling job.

Which pp must I use to convert Y in A in plain gcode converted arcs to line segments?

Thanks

Hi Brian, doubleclick your operation - in the upcoming dialog select the tab cut path and there select ' offset open paths '. This will offset your operation by the tool radius. And if you need you can click ' climb cut' . Then click ok to close the contour dialog . Now you have to move the startpoi...

Looks like V 4.1.16 doesn't do the job. Had to copy your hacked library into the Sheetcam folder to make it work with pbody's svg file.
