Re: Chain cutting question
Hi Les, Thought I'd add a couple more things. In version 6-1-50 when I post a job with the plasma1 post modified for flame cutting and have chain cutting enabled, (will only chain cut to a copied part (hint, hint!)) when it moves to the second part it is adding the preheat cycle to the operation. Ne...

Re: Chain cutting question
Hi Les, 1st part is the original and it doesn't chain to it's duplicate. I copied the part and made a copy of it and it will chain those two.
It seems like it used to work but I don't know if I have changed something or what...
Thanks again, Steve

Chain cutting question
When I duplicate parts the chain cutting doesn't seem to work but when the part is copied it will connect them fine. Is this the way it's supposed to work? Or am I missing something!
Thanks, Steve

Re: remnant nesting?
If you are using Mach3 there is a wizard called Copycat, jog and learn for router, I use it with a usb camera mounted on the torch body to trace parts. It would work with a pointer in place of the torch cap as well, It is quite accurate with a camera! I would think you could trace around your remnan...

Re: pre-pierce question
Thanks for considering it Les, I think I would be better to add a separate pre-pierce lead-in in my cad program on it's own layer, post that as one operation then post the profile cut as a second operation. It would then be an edge start with little preheat time... It just might work! I'll do some e...

Re: pre-pierce question
The way it was explained to me was to pierce and have a short lead-in cut with a sacrificial tip, stop, put in a good tip and make the cut with a known clean one. If you foul a tip it's almost always done on the pierce, the heavier the plate the bigger the volcano! I don't do enough heavy plate (ove...

pre-pierce question
I posted this at the Yahoo site too, so just in case you it there :-) Hi Les, I would like to modify the pre-pierce post for flame cutting, it would be ideal if it could preheat, pierce and ramp down to cut height then stop maybe 1/2" from the part edge, change the tip then re-post with the fla...
